A 16-year-old Georgia high school football player died on September 30, two days after collapsing on the sidelines during a game at Pike County High School in Zebulon. Although there were no immediate signs or cause of his collapse, a recently released coroner's report shows that the teen died of cardiac arrest as a result of traumatic brain injury.

What is a spinal cord abscess?
A spinal cord abscess (SCA) occurs when the space between the spine and the spinal cord lining becomes infected. A pocket-like area of pus forms in the affected area, which causes swelling and exerts pressure on the cord, resulting in serious health issues. Abscesses can occur in the brain as well.

Travis Barker, drummer for famed rock band Blink-182, is having a terrible year. Back in June, Barker was admitted to the hospital for blood clots in his arms, forcing the postponement of the band's planned residency in Las Vegas. After being diagnosed and treated, he was re-admitted a few days later with complications related to a staph infection (cancelling even more shows).
On September 20, Nissan North America issued a recall for over 215,000 models over concerns that the anti-lock brake may leak fluid onto an internal circuit board, increasing the risk of a fire. The recalled models range from 2015 to 2018.
