Compounding Pharmacy Recalls Products Nationwide
A Massachusetts compounding pharmacy is recalling 25 products - from drugs and cosmetics to pet food - distributed to patients and doctors in 21 states after inspectors found visible contaminants in drug vials.
The company, Pallimed Solutions in Woburn, is recalling all sterile compounded products dispensed since January 1. No injuries or illnesses have been reported resulting from the contamination.
Pallimed was already under review by state regulators after producing a super-potent painkiller that caused two people to be hospitalized and a generic form of Viagra found to be using "improper components." Read the full details, including a link to all recalled products, here:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is cracking down on compounding pharmacies since a recent fungal outbreak caused catastrophic injury and numerous deaths due to improper manufacturing of drugs. The general public is not aware that many tainted drugs are on the market due to a loop hole in laws passed a number of years ago.
