Physicians who are feeling the weight of insurance reimbursements have been forced to make many changes in their practices, including becoming cash only, according to The New York Times.
This route, often called "concierge medicine," usually results for three reasons: to preserve the doctors' incomes, to avoid the administrative hassles of insurance and to provide better care.

"Either I can go down with the ship, sell my practice to a hospital or take my practice in the wrong direction.
