Our Nursing Staff At Crandall & Pera Law

Well, one of the things that makes Crandall & Pera Law especially unique is the fact that we have three full time registered nurses on staff. There’s one that works in northern Ohio, one that works in southern Ohio, and one that works out of Kentucky, and these registered nurses are our employees and they help us analyze the cases.

One of our nurses in particular, in southern Ohio, Camille Harlan, is also a lawyer. She litigates with the partners these cases and she was a clinician for a number of years before she decided to back to law school and get her law degree and is an invaluable asset to Crandall & Pera Law in the evaluation and the litigation of cases. Myself in Kentucky, Martha Soling is my right hand. I’ve know Martha for 24 years, since I started out; she was a clinician for a number of years before she became a legal nurse assistant and she worked on the defense side, much the same way I did, for a large percentage of her career, and then joined me when we formed Crandall & Pera Law. Martha is invaluable in looking at cases and helping analyze them for determining whether there was malpractice.

Something that they have that I don’t have is that they actually worked in a hospital setting; they worked in an ICU – they went into the operating room and handed doctors the instruments and watched them actually cut into people’s bodies and operate on them. That’s an insight and an experience that I don’t have, and so it is invaluable for me and for my clients to have somebody like that look at their case and they can apply that insight and let us know was this a reasonable outcome or is this likely as a result of malpractice.

In addition, the nurses with Crandall & Pera Law are invaluable because they do medical research. Susan, I can tell you, is an incredible writer and also researcher. I mean, she can look at a medical record and figure out exactly what the primary issue is. They are incredible assets to us and the wonderful thing for our clients is that they’re just part of the fee. When you go to other law firms – not all of them, but a lot of them – nurses aren’t on staff; they will contact nurses and they will ask the nurses to help them out in the case but then those nurses’ time is billed as an expense in addition to the fee. That’s something we don’t do; we work with the nurses and the nurses work with us on an everyday basis, and I would never want to expense their time to a client. They are part of our team. So when you hire Crandall & Pera Law you don’t just get Mark, Steve, Ron and the associates that work with us, but you also get those three nurses; registered nurses, who have years of clinical experience between them looking at your case and helping to decide it merits.

At Crandall & Pera Law, our nursing staff is an essential part of our team. Our registered nurses have extensive experience with healthcare procedures and facilities, insurance practices and medical records and billing. Their skills and experience are a formidable asset in any medical malpractice, personal injury or product liability case; because of them, we can quickly and accurately evaluate a case and effectively determine the best course of action.

Unlike other firms, our nurses are a full-time part of our team. Our lawyers and nurses work together to ensure that no stone goes unturned and make sure that you have the information you need to successfully pursue a case. Like our attorneys, our medical team has spent time working for and defending healthcare and insurance providers. The combined knowledge and experience on the other side of the courtroom is invaluable.

Any time healthcare results in an injury or illness, establishing the chain events and proving cause involves mountains of paperwork and miles of red tape. Our team has the experience to turn mountains into molehills and cut through that tape; we get answers, and we fight to get the best possible results for each and every one of our clients.

If you believe that your loved one is a victim of medical malpractice or negligence, the experienced Ohio and Kentucky medical malpractice attorneys at Crandall & Pera Law can evaluate your case and help get you the compensation you deserve.
